Tips for Disease Management

Mid-summer and all in the garden is looking right, but do you have a security plan in place for the guys who show up late to the party? Leaf septoria, Powdery Mildew, Botrytis, Fusarium, all unwanted widespread pathogens that can be detrimental to our crop’s health. It is inevitable at some point in our growing experience we run into one of these pathogens and often it reduces our yield and leaves the potential for contaminated flowers. Lucky for us, there are some simple preventative measures that can be taken to mitigate the occurrence and or outbreak of these pathogens.

Some of our go to products for the suppression of these pathogens are Cease and Milstop, when used in conjunction with one another as both a foliar and a drench, it can help prevent season-long expression of Botrytis, Powdery Mildew, and bacterial leaf spots. Another favorite product of ours is Rootshield WP+, best used preventatively this fungus can build plant immunity and suppress some of the most detrimental water molds like Pythium and Fusarium. Last but not least and one of the most widely used products, Zerotol 2.0. With widespread pathogen control and working on contact, it is best used early in propagation and veg to mitigate soil-borne diseases. It can also be used to control PM on contact.
